S t a t i o n No. 2 Equipment
Engine 153 is a 1994 HME/Laverne rescue pumper which has a 1500 GPM pump, a 1000
gallons of water and 30 gallons of foam. This rescue engine is the primary fire
suppression and rescue vehicle for the Station No. 2 response area. With all of
the equipment needed for firefighting, this engine also carries a wide variety of
rescue tools needed for auto vehicle accidents. Some of the equipment includes hydraulic
spreaders, rams and cutters, high and low pressure air bags and various hand tools.
With a totally enclosed pump panel, the engineer can operate in all extremes of
weather and provide a climate controlled rest area for the firefighter. This engine
responds to Sauk Village with automatic aid.
Ambulance 172 is a 2006 Medtec Type-3 ALS (Advanced Life Support) ambulance. Built
on a Ford E-450 chassis, this ambulance provides care to the Eastern side of our
district. With a minimal staffing of (1) Paramedic and (1) EMT, this unit can provide
care to patients suffering from medical illnesses to trauma from multi-vehicle car
crashes. Both of the districts ALS ambulances are also equipped with water rescue
equipment.
Support Vehicle 192, a 2006 Ford Expedition, provides transportation for paid-on-call
members responding to calls and additional medical support to districts other station
when needed. This vehicle is also used when the district needs to send personnel
to schools and conferences.
CRETE TOWNSHIP FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
Tender 157 is a 2010 Alexis 3000 gallon tender. Built on a Freightliner chassis,
the unit is a primary response vehicle for our non-hydrant area. Included with this
unit is a 500 GPM PTO driven pump and a 3000 gallon Drop Tank. Tender 157 is located
very close to the Indiana state line and responds to local Indiana departments and
departments North of our district for mutual aid.
Squad 152 was built by E-One in 1980. Built on a Ford 8000 chassis with an all aluminum
body, 1250 GPM pump and 750 gallons of water, this was Station #2 primary response
engine until 1994 when it converted into a rescue squad now housed at Station #1.
The main function for this vehicle is to respond as a second out engine or backup
engine for multiple calls. In addition this engine is capable of drafting water from
drop tanks setup at fire scenes where fire hydrants are not present.
